A motorcyclist named Santoswas riding his motorcycle when he crashed into the back of a parked truck. He was immediately engulfed in flames, causing severe burns - according to medical staff, he had third-degree burns over 98% of his body.

After being intubated and temporarily stabilized at a local hospital, he was equipped for transfer to a better-equipped hospital in San Pedro Sula, over 280km away. However, Santos died from his injuries on the way.

His body was sent back to the hospital in Olanchito, where his wife arrived to collect the body.
