Gabriel Ángel Taborda, a 66-year-old man from the municipality of Ciudad Bolívar, remains in an intensive care unit in Medellín. He was brutally beaten by a group of five young men, apparently in retaliation for having prevented the robbery of a commercial establishment during his work as a security guard. The attack on this elderly person occurred in the Los Guayacanes sector of that municipality in southwestern Antioquia, and was recorded on video where the multiple blows he received from the attackers can be seen, who left him unconscious on the floor and then stole his belongings. The mayor of Ciudad Bolívar, León Darío Acevedo, denied the incident and confirmed that Gabriel Ángel is in a delicate state of health.“It seems that he had caught the attention of the citizens and they were always on the lookout for people who were going to be robbed and he came to their defense. And we see in that video, where it is really clear that there are five people who attacked this poor security guard, a good man, with good principles ,” the municipal leader explained.
