The incident took place outside Waste Centre Fabrics, on the ever-busy Umgeni Road, on Friday, 19 January 2024.

A man in a white vehicle, presumably the business owner, had just pulled up to the premises at approximately 07:44, about 15 minutes before Waste Centre Fabrics was due to open its doors when security cameras showed two men casually strolling by. The man, in his senior years, was violently pulled out of the car and smacked with a pistol in the back of his head.

Despite his pleas for help, the suspects overpowered the man and took off in his vehicle.
