Nottinghamshire Police has released footage of the terrifying moment he was dragged off the street along the floor into the shop before the attack took place, as his attackers were today jailed.

The investigation uncovered that Asmat Khan, 33, of Claremont Gardens, Sherwood Rise, approached the victim outside the takeaway shop at around 4am on 12 June. He grabbed hold of him before forcing him to the ground and assaulting him. He was then joined by his brother, Mohamed Khan, 33, also of Claremont Gardens and the takeaway owner, Zafar Ahmed, 35, of Mansfield Road, Nottingham city centre, who also began contributing to the attack.

Between them they then dragged the victim along the pavement and opened the shutters to the closed takeaway before pulling the victim inside and closing the shutters behind them.

Inside, the CCTV shows the victim being punched, stamped on and kicked to the head and body multiple times over the course of around ten minutes. He was also hit with a traffic cone and grabbed by his hair and pulled around.

Towards the end of the footage, the victim was ordered to stand up before being punched from behind so hard that he fell to the floor again.

The defenseless man was left powerless and made no attempt to fight back.

When officers arrived outside they saw a man staggering towards them before falling to the pavement and becoming unconscious.

All three offenders were arrested at the scene and subsequently pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm. They were sentenced to two years in prison yesterday (21 July).

Detective Inspector Danny Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire's criminal investigation department, said: "Ahmed and brothers Asmat and Mohamed Khan committed a barbaric, unforgiving attack which has left a man with life-long injuries.

"The victim was treated in hospital after suffering broken bones, including a broken eye socket. The psychological impact will stay with him forever.

"These three men have proven that they are capable of organised violence which goes against every fiber of our being. It is beyond expression that they continued to assault and beat their victim while he lay defenseless on the floor.

"I'd like to thank the member of the public who rightly reported the suspicious nature in which the victim was dragged into the shop to Nottinghamshire Police. I fear, that if they hadn't, this incident would have had a much different ending.
