An armed man with warrants out for his arrest in connection with violent crimes was shot during a confrontation with law enforcement officers in Hemet on Wednesday, March 2, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.Edgar Alejandro Solis, 35, of Hemet, was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside after being treated for his injuries. He was being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail.The shooting happened at about 4:10 p.m. in the 600 block of North Taschner Drive as members of the Riverside County Gang Task Force searched for Solis, a news release said. Solis was wanted for carjacking, robbery and drugs and weapons violations.
