The city of Matriz de Camaragibe, in the state of Alagoas, recorded another homicide on the evening of Tuesday, May 6. Young João Francisco Caetano Filho, 18, was shot dead on a vacant lot located in the Alto da Bica region, in the Bom Jesus housing complex, known as the Cícero Cavalcante complex.

Residents reported hearing several gunshots around 7:20 p.m. After the gunshots stopped, they found the young man's body lying in the bushes, with no signs of life. He was shirtless, wearing red shorts and had gunshot wounds to his head, neck, torso and arms.

This is the second homicide recorded in the city in less than a week, increasing residents' concern about the growing violence. The Civil Police are investigating the case.
