A traffic accident reported on the highway connecting Cúcuta to the municipality of El Zulia claimed the life of a 22-year-old social media personality, Heidy.

Heidy was well known locally for her activity as a content creator on social media, as seen on her TikTok account.

According to initial investigations, the victim was traveling on a Yamaha Crypton motorcycle, a recent model she had purchased just a month and a half before the accident. She was accompanied by a relative who was riding another motorcycle a few metres ahead.

Authorities are considering two main hypotheses regarding the cause of the accident. The first version suggests possible reckless driving. According to this hypothesis, Heidy and her relative attempted to overtake the tractor-trailer on the right side.

While the relative’s motorcycle successfully completed the manoeuvre, Heidy was not as fortunate and ended up being caught under the truck’s rear wheels.

The second hypothesis suggests that the accident may have been caused by the presence of a pedestrian on the road. According to this version, Heidy may have attempted to swerve to avoid the pedestrian, causing her to lose control of her motorcycle and fall onto the asphalt, where she was then run over by the truck.
