4.26.25. A robbery at a store in the Vinhais neighborhood of São Luís, Maranhão, ended with one of the suspects dead and another arrested after being shot. The incident occurred when two armed men invaded the establishment and announced the robbery in the early afternoon.

At the time of the criminal approach, a plainclothes military police officer was on site as a customer. Upon noticing the movement, the officer reacted immediately, starting a shootout inside the store. One of the robbers was hit and died at the scene.

The second suspect, despite being injured, managed to escape before police reinforcements arrived. However, a short time later, he was admitted to the Bequimão Mixed Unit (UPA) with gunshot wounds. After being identified, he was arrested and escorted by the police.

The Military Police cordoned off the area for forensic examination, and the suspect's body was removed by the Forensic Medical Institute. The case will be investigated by the Civil Police of Maranhão.
