In Facatativá, Cundinamarca, a 15-year-old student, whose name was not revealed, was the victim of sexual violence. According to a recording, the minor was approached by Diego Alejandro Torres Rodríguez, 22, who took the teenager against her will when she was on her way to school.

The case was registered in August 2024, but on October 18, a control judge ordered that he be placed under a security measure in the Facatativá prison, after he was charged with the crimes of violent sexual access and simple kidnapping.

According to the evidence, the man who was driving a taxi was waiting for the girl with the vehicle parked. When the minor passed by, the man threatened her with a firearm and forced her to get into the car. Then, he went to a road on the outskirts of the municipality, where he assaulted her and recorded the sexual abuse.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the student would not be the only victim; there are more videos that would prove other sexual assaults. The videos would have been found on Diego's cell phone.

But once he arrived at the Facatativá prison and in the context of prison codes, where rapists receive "the same medicine they gave to their victims," the inmates of the Facatativá prison, upon learning of Diego's arrival, decided to welcome him and record a video that quickly became a trend on social media.

In the clip, several prisoners can be seen beating and making the new inmate dance in a red thong, as the "welcome" he would receive for his heinous crime.

The comments are forceful and reflect strong contempt for his conduct, emphasizing the social rejection that sexual aggressors face within prisons.

This situation has rekindled the debate on social justice and the treatment of rapists in prison. Prison authorities, for their part, find themselves in a difficult position, given that they must guarantee the safety of all inmates, including those who have committed heinous crimes.

Meanwhile, the mother of the 15-year-old student spoke out clearly in various media outlets, demanding justice and greater protection for victims of sexual crimes. Her courageous testimony has resonated in the community, leading to social mobilizations in support of the victims and against impunity.

Statistics on assaults by rapists in prisons are worrying, and in some cases, these inmates are forced to satisfy the sexual needs of other prisoners.
