There has been an attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market. Government spokesman Matthias Schuppe confirmed this to MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT. According to eyewitnesses, a vehicle was driven into the Magdeburg Christmas market. There were reportedly numerous injuries and possibly deaths.

The car apparently drove straight into the crowd in the direction of the town hall. People ran away in panic. Photos from the scene show ambulances. The head of the Christmas market called for people to leave the city center. Confirmation from the police is still pending.
