According to the Federal Police, until he was arrested, he had sent 50 tons of cocaine to Europe over five years. In addition to airplanes, the Brazilian Pablo Escobar scheme also used ships. In a phone call monitored by investigators, Major Carvalho talks about the risk of the cocaine cargo being discovered. The person talking to Major Carvalho on the phone is Rodrigo Rodrigues Boeira, known as "Xiru", who died on Tuesday (12) in Paraná.In October 2021, the Espírito Santo Civil Police seized a truck in Cachoeiro do Itapemirim, in the south of the state, carrying 350 kilos of cocaine. The Federal Police took over the investigation and discovered that the gang's plan was to hide the drugs in granite slabs. The cargo would be placed in containers and shipped from the Port of Guarapari to the port of Le Havre in France."What caught our attention during the investigation was an invoice we found for the purchase of a 762 caliber rifle. This weapon was bought by one of the members of the group, the member who had direct contact with Major Carvalho, who was the group's leader in Brazil," explained Victor dos Santos Baptista, head of the PF/ES drug enforcement office. The person who had direct contact with Major Carvalho was Xiru, the man who made the phone call. He and four other drug traffickers were arrested in February in Operation White Plate. The Federal Police discovered 18 weapons with the accused, 17 of which had been bought legally. Six, including a rifle, were with Xiru. These are weapons that are normally used by the Armed Forces and specialized units of the civil, military and federal police. A rifle like this can hit a target from more than a kilometer away.
