Avallone shared a recording from the deck of his second-story apartment where he and his girlfriend, Holle Peno, hid from her ex-boyfriend.

The man, identified only as "Conrad," fired a shotgun through the door of the apartment. Pena was hit in the leg.

Police arrived on the scene and “engaged” with the man as he tried to break down the apartment door. There was an exchange of gunfire before the suspect fatally turned his weapon on himself.

"Our officers responded swiftly and courageously to this dangerous situation. Their decisive actions, I have no doubt, prevented further harm and potentially saved lives,” said Martinsburg Police Chief Erin Gibbons in a press release. “I am profoundly proud of their bravery and commitment to protecting our community. MPD extends its gratitude to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, the West Virginia State Police, and the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force for their invaluable assistance at the scene and in the ongoing investigation of this incident."

Peno was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

She previously posted photos to X of airtags Conrad had allegedly placed in her car to track her movements.

Avallone shared a screenshot of the last text messages the suspect reportedly sent Peno before killing himself. In one message, the man says he "should have killed the coward."

Internet personality and Twitch streamer Hunter Avallone was involved in a shooting at his West Virginia apartment on Friday afternoon.

Avallone shared a recording from the deck of his second-story apartment where he and his girlfriend, Holle Peno, hid from her ex-boyfriend.

The man, identified only as "Conrad," fired a shotgun through the door of the apartment. Pena was hit in the leg.

"Still trying to process this," Avallone wrote in a subsequent post. "Holle and I are physically ok but mentally, this is gonna do some serious damage. Holle has been amazing and she's been incredibly brave and strong throughout this ordeal."
