Police Officer shot while approaching home during a standoff that started as a domestic violence call in Milwaukee.

A Milwaukee police officer was shot and injured while responding to a domestic violence situation on the city's northwest side near Lincoln Park on Tuesday morning.

Police Chief Jeffrey Norman said a man from inside a home shot at police officers on two occasions. The officers returned shots each time. On the second occasion, an officer was struck by gunfire but is expected to survive.
