According to the Yamal residents, the truck was heading towards the Taz River when its brakes failed. Trying to save himself, the driver wanted to jump out of the car while it was moving, but it didn't work: the truck fell on its side and crushed the man. The northerner died, eyewitnesses claim that the car literally cut his body in half.

There are no official comments from the State Traffic Inspectorate regarding this incident yet.
