Shocking footage has been released showing a suspect committing an arson attack on a Finchley bakery.

Police were called at 5:30am on Monday 14 March to Tavazo bakery, Ballards Lane following reports of a fire.

The fire was believed to have been started just before 5am, London Fire Brigade had attended and the blaze needed eight pumps to be brought under control and extinguished.

CCTV footage captured the suspect opening the rear door of the premises and then walking around dousing the floor with a flammable liquid from a black fuel container.

The suspect is described as wearing a distinctively patterned crash helmet, jacket trousers, gloves and black and white trainers.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the suspect shown on the CCTV issued today.
