Lovers Antonio Sanchez Alejandro Mendoza and Marleny Grullón Chaplain fell from their third floor apartment after an argument.

Antonio had tried to strangle Marleny but she fought him off. He went to the kitchen to get a knife, while she fled to the balcony in an attempt to escape to the next door apartment. He rushed after her, grabbing her leg, then somehow they both fell to the car park below.

Marleny was taken to the trauma unit of a public hospital in a critical condition, she suffered multiple fractures and a stroke.

Antonio was taken to a private hospital from which he later fled before fully recovering.

Happened June 28 in the Dominican Republic.
