BRAZIL’S presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro - dubbed the ‘Brazilian Donald Trump’ - is in surgery after being seriously injured in a knife attack while at a campaign rally today

Bolsonaro was stabbed in the abdomen while in the city of Juiz de Fora in Minas Gerai state.

Brazilian media has reported the far-right candidate suffered a serious liver injury in the attack. A hospital spokeswoman confirmed the 63-year-old is undergoing surgery.
