This was the view from about 2 miles out of the crash that killed at least 11 people and injured over 70. The plane was the Galloping Ghost owned and piloted by Jimmy Leeward, age 74!

This aircraft was built in 1944, was sold as surplus and modified many times over the years for racing. It had crash landed twice before and rebuilt. <br></br>

There was no rebuilding of the Galloping Ghost this time.
