A violent attempted robbery at a jewelry store in the Las Chapas neighborhood in Màlaga ended with an unusual outcome on Thursday night. According to the national police, a man tried to flee after the assault allegedly armed with a Taser gun but was chased by several neighbors who managed to hold him until the officers arrived and proceeded to arrest him.

The thief was acting together with an accomplice who was waiting for him on a motorcycle and managed to escape, so the police are keeping the investigation open to locate him.

The events took place on Martínez Maldonado Street and numerous witnesses saw the chase, which has gone viral on social media for the quick reaction of the neighborhood to prevent the suspect from fleeing.
