The incident took place on December 5 on a major highway near Dallas, and the motorist happened to capture it on dashcam.

Footage shows the driver narrowly avoiding getting hit by the big rig truck by mere fractions of a second - and how the 18-wheeler suddenly appeared before him after running off the road above.

The truck was sent careening off an overpass, cops later said of the near miss that happened in Royse City, a suburb just outside Dallas, and slid down a ramp onto the road the driver was heading down at a high rate of speed.

In a scene straight out of Terminator 2, the driver stops just in time, after which the trucker - miraculously - walked away mostly unscathed.
