fatal shooting of Indian Red Boy (Zerail Dijon Rivera) occurred on July 8, 2021, at approximately 4:10 p.m. as a targeted ambush in a residential parking area.Sequence of Events the Setup: Rivera was sitting alone in the driver's seat of his car, parked in a carport behind a multi-level gated apartment complex. He was broadcasting a casual conversation on Instagram Live with a friend and fellow social media influencer.The Approach: An unidentified gunman walked up to the driver's side of the vehicle. Rivera noticed the threat a fraction of a second before the assault began, quickly shifting his expression.The Volley: The assailant opened fire through the driver's side window, launching a rapid sequence of at least 12 gunshots into the vehicle. The vehicle quickly filled with smoke from the discharging firearm.The Escape: The gunman fled the apartment complex immediately after firing the rounds.The Response: Witnesses and the victim's streaming contact alerted emergency services. Officers from the Hawthorne Police Department and paramedics from Los Angeles County Fire Rescue arrived shortly after, locating Rivera slumped in the seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to fatal trauma to his upper body and head.
