Mumbai, India:

The deceased cricketer has been identified as Vijay Patel and in the viral video, he can be seen talking to another man standing at the non-striker end. Patel, a resident of Nala Sopara near Mumbai, was walking back to the crease when he felt uneasy and collapsed. Some people saw Patel fall to the ground and rushed to save him, but to no avail.

A cricket match was being played on Christmas Day at Dr. Fraser Boys Ground in Jalna but no one had imagined that this match would take Vijay's life. Although there has been no official confirmation of the cause of Patel's death, it is believed that he had a heart attack.

"He collapsed around 11.30 am while playing a match as part of the Christmas Trophy tournament here. He is suspected to have suffered a heart attack. Efforts to save him through CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) failed. We are awaiting the post-mortem report," a police official said, as reported by news agency PTI.

It is worth noting that this is not the first case where a person has died of a heart attack. Earlier this month, a 31-year-old techie died of a heart attack in Mumbai. He was playing cricket at Azad Maidan but during the match he suffered chest pain and died on the spot. According to reports, the victim continued to play despite chest pain and fainted while taking a run.
