A man of approximately 50 years of age took his life in the middle of the street in the Ferrocarrilera neighborhood in the municipality of Apizaco, Tlaxcala.

A dramatic scene was witnessed by people passing through the streets of the Ferrocarrilera neighborhood, in Apizaco, Tlaxcala , where a man decided to take his own life in the middle of a public street.

The man, approximately 50 years old and who has not been identified by local authorities , decided to fire a firearm at his head, ending his life almost instantly.

The events occurred during the morning of May 23 when, according to a video taken by surveillance cameras, the man was calmly advancing through the intersection of Gómez Farías and 16 de Septiembre streets .

In the images, a woman with an umbrella can be seen advancing, leading a child by the hand while the man, with total serenity, takes a gun out of his backpack and with a well-aimed shot injures himself.

Authorities investigate the events that caused the suicide

Although at first the local authorities were alerted by gunshots and it was believed that the man had been killed, the security camera images made it clear that it was he himself who made the attempt on his life.

Moments after the incident, elements of the Municipal Police and paramedics arrived at the scene , who certified the man's death due to the severity of the injuries caused by the gunshot.

The legal investigations continue to try to clarify the circumstances that led the deceased to make such a dramatic decision.
