The people of Corinth are horrified after a motorcyclist was killed and then his body was incinerated along with his vehicle.

The gruesome crime occurred in the early hours of Monday, November 18, when residents of the El Jardín neighborhood alerted the authorities about the case and later shared images of how the flames ended up burning the victim's body.

"So far, it is not known who the person who was murdered in this way is, only that this case was recorded in the middle of the street here in the urban area, as people first heard some gunshots and then an explosion, so they went out to see and what they found was a gruesome scene," said Francisco Pantoja, a teacher from this municipality in northern Cauca.

Oveimar Yivan Ramos Fernández was one of the representatives of the Community Action Board of the El Carmelo village, in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Corinto, Cauca.

This case increased the fear of the residents even more because it is the second homicide that has been recorded in less than 24 hours in this region in the north of the department.

This Sunday, November 17, community leader Oveimar Yivan Ramos Fernández was murdered in Caloto, but since his relatives took the body to the hospital in Corinto, the residents of this municipality consider that these are situations that disrupt the tranquility of their municipality.

"We don't know that our town and others here in the north are now the scene of intense confrontation between illegal armed groups, so as a civilian population we are caught in the middle of all this violence without seeing any real help from the authorities to stop all these crimes," denounced María Carabalí in response to this homicide.
