On the morning of last Monday (12), the community of Rio do Sul was shaken by a serious act of violence. Businessman Antônio Marcos Becker, 43, was brutally attacked in the head with an iron bar by an employee of his company.

The incident occurred while Marcos was bent down doing some work, without noticing the attacker approaching. The blow was so sudden that he did not have time to react, and he immediately fell to the ground, unconscious.

Marcos was rushed to the Regional Hospital, where he underwent a CT scan that revealed a depressed and fractured skull. He underwent surgery in the hospital's Surgical Center, which lasted about four hours and resulted in 12 stitches in his head.

Despite the severity of the injury, the surgery was successful, and Marcos is now recovering, still hospitalized under medical care.

Marcos and his wife shared details about the attack. According to Marcos, the motive for the attack may have been a request for the employee to redo a piece, which may have provoked the attacker's anger.

Another company employee, upon seeing Marcos unconscious and covered in blood, ran to the boss's brother's house to ask for help.

The Civil Police are treating the case seriously, classifying it as an attempted murder. A police report was filed, and the iron bar used in the attack was collected as evidence.

Investigations are ongoing, with delegate Bruno Reis leading the inquiry, which should be concluded this week.
