The driver of a pickup truck ran over two workers at a Copec service center in Providencia, Metropolitan Region, causing the death of one and leaving another in critical condition.

Specifically, the serious incident occurred around noon this Sunday at the intersection of Santa Isabel and Salvador streets.

According to information from Radio Bío Bío, for reasons under investigation, the driver of the pickup truck, a Ford F-150, allegedly loaded gasoline, failed to pay, and, in an attempt to flee the scene, crashed into the Pronto Express store, injuring one worker.

He subsequently ran over the firefighter, who was believed to be the fatal victim, then fled the scene, but was arrested a few blocks from the scene.

The Prosecutor's Office instructed the Traffic Accident Investigation Section (SIAT) and the OS9 department to investigate the case to gather evidence and witness statements.
