An explosion occurred at a gas station in Iskitim this afternoon — two tanks caught fire after a fuel truck pulled up to the station. The driver managed to get into the cabin for a moment, but a fire soon broke out. One of the witnesses to the incident rushed to help the victims. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, spending no more than 40 minutes on this, according to the local Ministry of Emergency Situations. Half an hour later, the fire was completely extinguished. 15 specialists and 4 units of equipment were involved.The gas station employee and the driver of the tanker were hospitalized with burns, but their lives are out of danger. The man who was helping the victims managed to move away from the gas pump at the time of the explosion.
