Óscar Octavio Aguilar Vera, 53 years old and originally from Fresnillo, Zacatecas, a contractor in the mining sector, was executed with two bullets to the head inside the “Las Costillas de Sancho” restaurant, located on Aguascalientes Avenue, in the Bosques del Prado subdivision, in the north of the city.

The homicide took place this Thursday, around three in the afternoon, and was perpetrated by two individuals, who once accomplished their task, apparently fled aboard a motorcycle and escorted by other individuals in two vans.

Elements of the police corporations deployed an intense operation by land and air in search of the hitmen but they did not locate them, although at around six in the afternoon they found one of the vans in which they fled abandoned, on Guadalupe Street, in front of the temple. of the same name.

The first investigations carried out by the authorities revealed that the victim arrived at the aforementioned restaurant, located at number 402 Aguascalientes Norte Avenue, almost on the corner of San Julián Street, accompanied by six other men and occupied a table on the ground floor for a Work meeting.

Aguilar Vera was meeting with the six people as they were seeking to reach a conciliation as part of a copyright trial carried out in the State of Zacatecas and for which more than 70 million pesos were in dispute.

The contractor was involved in a trial since 2019 in Zacatecas over the patent for a type of explosives used in mining and that Óscar Octavio claimed as the owner and creator but that another person began to use it.

The judge handling the case ordered both parties in the trial to reach an agreement and conciliate in an impartial place, which is why they moved to Aguascalientes to meet at the restaurant where the attack occurred.

This Thursday was the third time they met in the same place.

While they were talking, the two hitmen were already sitting at another table, who had pretended to be diners.

At a certain point they stood up and walked directly towards the Fresnillo contractor.
