The businesswoman Kariane Veras was shot dead inside his restaurant on Monday night (2) in the municipality of Piripiri, 165 km from Teresina. One of the suspects was arrested on Tuesday (3).

According to the Military Police, the victim was inside his restaurant in the residential Petecas III, when two men arrived at the scene. It is not yet known the dynamics of the crime, whether the duo went to the scene with the intention of carrying out a robbery or was an execution. After the shooting, the suspects fled.

"We still don’t know exactly what happened, only that she was in her restaurant and two suspects arrived who carried out firearm shots," said Captain Angelo.

The victim was rescued and sent to the Chagas Rodrigues Regional Hospital, but she did not resist the injuries and died.

Shortly after the crime the Military Police carried out demarches and one of the suspects was located and arrested at the scene in the municipality of Cocal, a 102 km from Piripiri, on Tuesday.
