An angry mob of neighbors tried to pummel a person of interest in the homicide of a woman found stuffed in a sleeping bag as he was taken into custody on Monday, heart-pounding video shows.Dozens of locals, including the 31-year-old victim’s distraught mother, swarmed the 55-year-old man the moment he was brought outside of the Straus Houses, a NYCHA complex, in Kips Bay on a stretcher, according to the video. It appears one man landed at least one punch while others also attempted to carry out their own version of street justice. The man, who was handcuffed to the stretcher, was taken away in an ambulance and later questioned by detectives in connection to the death of Yazmeen Williams, sources said. The chaos unfolded after Williams was found on Friday stuffed inside the sleeping bag and left next to a pile of trash on a Manhattan street.Cops on Monday classified her death as a homicide and said she was shot in the head. The person of interest also came face-to-face with Williams’ mother, Nicole Williams, as he was put into the back of an NYU Langone ambulance.“You killed my daughter,” Nicole Williams screamed as she pointed at the man who cops have yet to identify or charge.Others also berated him, including calling him a “crackhead.” Someone else also screamed to “kill him.”After the ambulance drove off with its sirens blaring, investigators put their arms around Nicole Williams.Williams earlier in the day told The Post she believes her daughter’s killer was a friend of hers who uses a wheelchair. The person of interest landed on the NYPD’s radar after he was seen in an electric wheelchair dragging the sleeping bag, law enforcement sources said.It was not clear Monday where the fatal shooting of Williams took place.
