Special adapted for climbing, the toe pads of the tree frog have adhesive disks that help them hold on to any climbable surface. Tree frogs spend most of their time off the ground, although they must climb back down to earth on occasion.

For instance, during breeding season, female tree frogs need to locate a water source to lay their eggs. Until aboreal ponds are a thing, that means traversing terra firma and all the risks that come with it.

Black racer snakes are very quick, but they are a non-venomous species of snake. Besides a little scarring, this fortunate tree frog will not have any lasting effects from this attack.
