The young man worked at a bakery in Marituba and would have turned 18 next month.Matheus Cristian, who was a friend of the victim, was with the boy last Sunday (18), at a beach resort with a group of people. “He was a very humble person. A jokester. Last Sunday, we were at a beach resort and he was sending messages to everyone through the sound system. He worked as a baker here in Marituba. His family was from Maranhão, and came to live here at an uncle’s house,” he said emotionally.

Marituba resident Daniel Martins witnessed the accident. According to him, serious accidents in the area are not uncommon.
