A young man named Tanmoy Barman Akash (33) died after being crushed by a train in the capital's Khilgaon. The accident occurred around 10:30 am on Tuesday while he was getting off a moving train on the railway track adjacent to the Khilgaon police outpost. Tanmoy was a student of the Advanced Garments Production and Lean Management course at the Institute of Apparel Research and Technology.The deceased, Tanmoy Barman Akash, was the son of Tapas Barman of Board Bazar area of Gacha police station in Gazipur district. He was the eldest of three brothers. He got married nine months ago.Dhaka Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Joynal Abedin told Jugantar that Tanmoy Barman left his home in Gazipur and came to Dhaka in the morning to participate in industrial training related to job exams. When the train reached Khilgaon area, he tried to get off the moving train. At that time, he slipped and fell on the railway track and both his legs went on the track. One leg was cut off and the other leg was crushed. Later, passers-by rescued him and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital at around 11:15 am, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. After the autopsy, he was handed over to his family members.
