On May 31, 2014, 4 people were killed in a sudden accident.

A Mercedes was driving on a road in Demyanka (access KS-7 in the Uvat region). Nearby, a driver with only a year of driving experience was driving a red Lada Priora in the oncoming direction. Suddenly the two cars collided at high speed, and everyone involved was killed. A 23-year-old, 24-year-old, and 30-year-old all from Demyanka were killed. There was also a 40-year-old resident from the Kurgan region who was also killed.
