The corpse found floating in the Rio dos Sinos was identified as Davidy Wéliton Basto, aged 27. Born in Taquara, he had several criminal records. During the rescue of the body near Rio dos Sinos, in Sapiranga, the police and firefighters saw a wound on his head. The main suspicion is that he was killed and dumped by the executioners in a higher part of the river, or even in a neighboring municipality, such as Araricá and Nova Hartz.
