Tensions flared between a small group of local residents and pro-refugee activists during a rally in Calais, Saturday.

Both groups threw missiles and shouted insults at each other before one local resident appeared outside his house carrying a gun.

The man briefly pointed the gun at the demonstration, which was made up of refugees, migrants and pro-refugee activists, before taking the weapon back into his home.
