Marcos Silva de Souza, 42, fell shortly after beginning his ride and was trampled in the chest by the animal.

He stands up, but returns to the ground quickly. He was rushed to hospital, where he soon died.

The event was the first to be held in the Jequitinhonha Valley Region and about four thousand people filled the arena when the accident occurred.
