The Nateete Division Police are investigating a shocking incident of attempted murder that left a businessman severely injured. The attack occurred on the evening of May 13, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m. at Bashir Grain Millers in Nateete Ku Taano.

55-year-old Turyamuhaki Sam, a resident of Kabawo Zone in Lubaga Division, was allegedly attacked by an employee at Bashir Grain Millers while conducting a financial transaction.

“I was verifying a sum of 8 million shillings when an employee, Kiiza Ashiraf, entered the office with a sack,” recounted Turyamuhaki.

“Before I knew it, he pulled out a machete and a hammer and demanded the money.”

A struggle ensued, leaving Mr. Turyamuhaki with severe head injuries. With the help of bystanders, the assailant was subdued, and Turyamuhaki received medical attention.

“We are investigating an incident of attempted murder,” said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for the Kampala Metropolitan Police.

“Exhibits, including the weapons used in the assault, have been recovered from the scene. CCTV footage is also being reviewed to aid in apprehending the suspect who fled after the attack,” said Owoyesigyire.
