A man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a bus driver while he was picking up passengers in Curvelo this Wednesday (1st). The victim did not survive his injuries.

According to information from the Military Police, teams went to the Bom Jesus neighborhood after receiving a call to 190 around 7:30 am.

When they arrived, the police provided initial assistance and began their investigation. The ambulance service and the fire department rescued the man, but he ultimately died.

"Based on information obtained at the scene and descriptions provided by witnesses, the military police initiated an intensive search, locating and arresting the suspect a few minutes after the incident," the police reported.

According to the police, the weapon used in the crime was seized at the suspect's residence.

"The Civil Police's Technical Expertise team arrived at the scene, carried out the forensic work, and collected evidence related to the crime. The images from the bus's surveillance system were also preserved and passed on to the Civil Police to support the investigation."

According to the Military Police, initial information suggests that the crime is linked to previous disagreements between the victim and the perpetrator, which will be investigated.

The prisoner and the weapon were taken to the Civil Police station.
