A man was arrested and beaten by several people when he tried to steal a motorcycle that was parked on Gómez Morín Avenue in the city of Oaxaca, on the border with San Jacinto Amilpas.

The events were recorded and posted on social media, where people were asked to be careful with this person who is dedicated to theft and who apparently had already been identified stealing other vehicles.

As soon as he was detected by the owner of the motorcycle, he asked for help and at least three other people supported him, who began to beat him.

They hit him several times, hit him with potatoes and even hit him with a motorcycle lock, in addition to tearing his shirt, and all he could do was roll around on the floor and try to cover himself to avoid being hurt further.

Suddenly, his captors stopped beating him and ordered him to leave, so he got up and ran away from the area to safety.

On social media, users have declared that this is the only way to stop motorcycle theft, a crime that is on the rise and causes serious harm to the general population.

They indicated that the inhabitants of the municipality of Oaxaca de Juárez have to be aware of what is happening in order to protect themselves from criminal acts, since there is no security strategy on the part of the capital city council headed by Francisco Martínez Neri.

They pointed out that there is no police surveillance, there are no mechanisms to assist residents and there is no adequate response capacity when their intervention is required.
