In Lipetsk, Russia, two young people were killed when the 24-year-old driver of a Daewoo Nexia, travelling at high speed, collided into a light post on the Oktyabrsky Bridge.

The two fatalities, who were passengers in the Daewoo, were a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman. The crash also tore the Daewoo into half, with the back half being found forty metres away from the crash site.

Although the driver has been forgiven by the families of both victims, he faces up to seven years in prison.
