On Friday morning, a speeding Roadways bus crushed two young men who were walking on Devpura Road in the Sadar police station area. The incident resulted in the tragic on-the-spot death of Lekhraj Gurjar, a resident of Aavli Rojdi, Kota. The second young man was injured, but the police have been unable to locate him. A crowd gathered after the sudden accident, and police arrived at the scene to begin their investigation.According to information, the Kota depot's Roadways bus was traveling from Kota towards Bundi at around 12:30 PM. Near the Sant Nirankari Bhawan in the Devpura area, the speeding bus forcefully struck the two pedestrians. One of the young men managed to escape, but the bus ran over the other. A crowd gathered at the scene and expressed their anger. The bus driver fled after the accident. According to Roadways officials, the driver was a contract employee. A team was sent to the location after the incident, but the driver could not be found.Eyewitnesses reported that the driver was speeding after crossing the railway overbridge, which led to the loss of control and the subsequent accident. Station House Officer Ramesh Arya stated that the bus has been seized and a case has been registered against the driver.According to police, the deceased had previously worked at a sweet shop in Bundi and was currently working in Nayapura, Kota. In the presence of the family, police conducted a post-mortem and handed the body over to the relatives.
