In the afternoon of this Wednesday, a fatal accident was recorded in the sector of the Sandbox in Puerto Wilches, Santander, an area adjacent to the Magdalena River.

Two motorcycles collided and caused an explosion that seriously burned those involved in the incident. The flames compromised 90% of José Domingo Parra's body.

The 60-year-old man died after being transferred to a care center. He was driving a Bajaj Discover 110 motorcycle with a ZLG 75D license plate and had an accident against a 23-year-old man identified as Ángel María Contreras Yepes.

“Upon arriving at the site we found a person who was on the edge of the road asking for help and in the middle of the road there was a burnt-out motorcycle. The Fire Unit provides the first attention to the man who had burns on 90 percent of his body. The other young man had a wound on his forehead and femur,” said Delkis Díaz, a member of the Puerto Wilches Fire Department.
