The war between factions has once again left a trail of violence in the North Zone of Natal. A young man identified as Driel, known as "Ricovi", was executed on Sunday night (21) after being captured by members of the RN Crime Syndicate (SDC-RN)

In a report posted on social media, the faction claimed responsibility for the crime and explained the motive for the execution. According to the report, the young man was "decreed" for switching sides and aligning himself with the Comando Vermelho (CV), a rival faction.

"For those who jump to this side, I am only sorry," says the statement signed by the group, which also reinforced the threat to "end this filthy race from our state."

The case raised alarms about escalating violence in the region, as gangs have been fighting for territory in the North Zone, especially in the most vulnerable areas. Residents report fear and insecurity, as the execution was carried out in an exemplary manner to intimidate other young people into "betraying" the group.

The Civil Police must investigate the homicide, but, as in other cases, fear of reprisals may make it difficult for witnesses to speak out about the crime.
