MMA star Miguelito Grijalva blew out his knee before his title shot eliminator fight even began.

Grijalva on Thursday (July 20) was set to take on Martin Mollinedo at Fusion Fighting Championship (FFC) 64 before his night ended in disaster.

The 8-0 Ecuadorian was the main event star in Lima, Peru, entering the octagon fully pumped up as he warmed up by circling the cage.

But ‘El Chevere’ bowed out before even a second of the contest against the 26-11 veteran had taken place, suffering a horrendous injury as he jumped high and slammed his feet onto the canvas with force.

The 22-year-old stumbled and his facial expression instantly changed as he realised something had gone badly wrong. He limped towards the cage before dropping to the floor and clutching his knee in agony.

Grijalva attempted to stand up to no avail, quickly falling back down and bursting into tears as two medical staff came to his aid. He was eventually carried out of the octagon, with the highly-anticipated fight being called off.
