The Phoenix Police Department released a Critical Incident Briefing (CIB) video that includes audio, visuals and information related to an officer-involved shooting (OIS) which occurred on April 3, 2021 in the area of 75th Avenue and Indian School Road. ​​​​Patrol officers from the Maryvale Precinct and a police helicopter responded to reports of a man pointing a handgun at multiple people. The man made his way into a restaurant pointed the gun and assaulted two people. As officers arrived, he refused commands and pointed the gun at an officer. The officer fired his weapon, striking the man. Officers provide medical aid until Phoenix Fire Personnel arrived. He was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
