The spectacular rollover of a pickup truck left one young man dead and another injured. The fatal victim was traveling as a passenger and was thrown from the passenger compartment, while the driver was injured and hospitalized. The accident occurred on Sunday, around 11:50 p.m., at km 11.5 Acaray, on route PY02 in Ciudad del Este. The police report from police station 12 mentions that, at the indicated time, a black Toyota Hilux Surf pickup truck with license plate CFP 931, driven by Gabriel González Acosta, 35, overturned dramatically on the side of the road after the driver lost control of the vehicle. During the overturn, his companion Aldo Javier Segovia Candia, 25, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and hit his head, causing instant death. The uniformed officers arrived at the scene and found the fatal victim on the side of the road. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken by firefighters to the Regional Hospital of Ciudad del Este, where he was admitted. The incident was reported to the on-duty prosecutor Luis Trinidad, who called the Police Criminalistics staff for the corresponding expert report. He then ordered the transfer of the victim's body to the Cristal funeral home, where the on-duty forensic doctor diagnosed the probable cause of death as multiple head trauma in a traffic accident.
