Bizarre footage that might deceptively appear to show a remote controlled helicopter losing control, is in fact video footage of a helicopter crashing when it was flown recklessly by its pilot.

The video circulating on social networks shows the moment the helicopter crashed in Lake Furnas in Fame (MG) on the afternoon of Saturday (20 September). Government officials have confirmed that the video is true and that comes from the crash site, and is not an RC model.

Two people died in the crash, with the pilot surviving, but he fled the scene of the accident. The body of Livia Reis Carvalho, 27, and the body of military police sergeant Marcos Antonio Alves, 44, was buried in the city cemetery have been recovered from the scene.
