A woman was run over and dragged for several meters by a car on the streets of the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl, in the State of Mexico. Local media reported that the woman was seriously injured after the incident.

Through a video that was spread on social networks, you can see the moment in which the driver of a Ford Fiesta type vehicle runs over a woman, who is pinned under the vehicle and dragged for several meters, and from one moment to the next, the car runs over the woman, who is visibly injured.

In the video you can hear screams and whistles from neighbors, who realized what the driver was doing, with the intention of getting him to stop, however, the driver does not pay attention and continues on his way.

After the incident, the woman tried to stand up, but was unable to do so due to her injuries, and cried from the pain she was in. She then lay down on the pavement. A red pickup truck passed by her, but the driver did not stop to help her. The driver of the car that hit her fled at full speed down the same street.

Neighbors called for an ambulance and a Municipal Rescue team arrived at the scene. Paramedics gave her first aid and took her to a hospital in the region with several injuries all over her body and her health condition was reported as critical.

Likewise, the media that covered the news reported that the Victim Assistance Unit of the municipal government contacted the woman's family, who was identified as Elide, 36 years old, who provided this information to local authorities.

The woman has two minor children, who live with their grandmother in the neighboring municipality of Chimalhuacán.

The Nezahualcóyotl City Council notified the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico to carry out an investigation into the case and arrest the person responsible. The woman was still hospitalized as of last Thursday.
