Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run collision that severely injured a woman in Sherman Oaks.The collision occurred on Friday, Sept. 6, just before 6 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.Video released by LAPD shows a black Hyundai sedan traveling westbound on Ventura Boulevard and attempting to make a left turn onto Costello Avenue. That’s where the driver struck the victim, a 63-year-old woman who was walking in a crosswalk, knocking her to the ground.Police said the driver briefly stopped but then drove off southbound on Costello Avenue and later headed west on Davana Terrace.The victim, who managed to regain her footing, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital.The LAPD describes the suspect vehicle as a black Hyundai four-door sedan with tinted windows. No license number was available.
